Tesco slices Hovis after impact on wheat prices
The United Kingdom large supermarket and one of the countries largest food manufacturers are in disagreement over which should cost a loaf of bread. The Prime Minister asked Tesco prices increased after the price of wheat has risen in recent months, adding to the cost of production of a loaf.
Forest fires and droughts in Russia in the summer have resulted in the price almost doubled since June.
Tesco however refused the request.She stopped seeding 12 lines Hovis accordingly, although still seven beaches Hovis sells.
A spokesman for Tesco said: "we cannot comment on our trade agreements with the fournisseurs.Nous we always strive to provide our customers with valuable bread."
A spokesman for the Prime Minister Foods said: "record rise in the price of wheat earlier this year was widely reported .the ' magnitude of this increase was necessary for price increases to be sent to retailers."
"While we do comment on our agreements with individual retailers, we can say that we continue to Hovis to Tesco and they remain one of our most important clients."
Clive Black, an analyst at retail in the capital of the coast, said: "this loss business probably hitting Hovis very difficult, while boosting potential company, bakeries and tertiary, suppliers if they are willing to relay; an assumption we cannot yet."
Mr. black has stated that the pressure in the market the bread was evident for "few weeks", with retailers promote strongly to help cash-strapped buyers.
